Achilles tendinopathy is an overuse condition involving the tendon that connects the calf muscles to the heel. It usually develops gradually from repeated loading and may cause pain, stiffness, and thickening at the back of the ankle. It can limit running, jumping, climbing stairs, and other weight-bearing activities.
